The average number of telecommuters managed was 4-6.
All respondents reported success in their telecommuting programs.
2/3 have been managing telecommuters for at least two years.
78% measure productivity.
Responding managers hold meetings an average 2-3 times per month.
Difficulties with telecommuting were evenly spread between the following issues:
lack of time
unsuitability of
employee to telecommuting
miscommunication
lack of clear goals.
What managers thought would help in managing telecommuters, were:

#2 improving trust
The most important attributes that managers look for in telecommuters are (the average
respondent offered two):
self-disciplined 55%
self-sufficient 55%
communicative 33%
productive 44%
job satisfaction 11%
